2/12/12-Vehicle Fire On The Interstate

On Sunday Morning Stations 33 and 46 (Kutztown) were alerted to a vehicle Fire in Greenwich Township on Interstate 78 Eastbound in the area of mile maker 37. Engine and Tanker 33 responded as well as Engine and Tanker 46. Engine 33 arrived and closed the roadway while placing an 1.75 inch hose line in service to control and extinguish the fire. Once traffic cleared, the fire units from Station 46 proceeded into the scene to assist with extinguishment and overhaul. Units remained on scene for approximately an hour to control traffic due to the icy conditions created from spraying the water on the cold roadway.
