9/4/11-Hawk Mountain Rescue

Author: Kellen Klee

On September 4th at 20:51 hours, company 33 was dispatched to assist companies 44(Kempton), 46(Kutztown) Lehigh County 71(Northwestern EMS), and the Lehigh County Technical Rescue Team, on a rescue on Hawk Mountain in Albany Twp. The responding crew was advised that there was one injured female patient that technical rescue crews were in the process of bringing up a steep rocky incline and that assistance was needed carrying the patient down the mountain. 6 members from 33 reported to the scene while others remained at station for any additional calls. The 33 crew hiked up the mountain and assisted with carrying the patient down the side of the mountain to a waiting ATV for extrication to an EMS unit. Company 33 cleared about 5 hours later.
