Municipal Records Management Workshop

This workshop will address various issues relevant to the challenges posed by today's rapidly expanding world of records and information management.

Among the topics to be discussed are :

  • Elements of a Records Management Program
  • Using the Municipal Records Manual
  • E-mail and Electronic Records, with Emphasis on Discoverability and the Right to Know Regulations
  • Disaster Planning for Records
  • Vital Records Protection
  • Overview of the Assistance available from the Local Government Records Section of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission
Municipal officials will gain a better understanding of the potential changes needed in their record keeping procedures to meet changing state laws and operate most efficiently.
Who Should Attend:  Municipal managers and secretaries, elected officials, department heads, staff members, and other individuals responsible for maintaining government records.
